Sharing the costs of vocational education and training : An analysis of schemes in the newer EU Member States maps and compares cost-sharing mechanisms for vocational education and training  (VET) across 12 Member States (Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Slovakia). It evaluates how these mechanisms inflluence private investment in VET, identifies shortcomings in how they are run, and establishes which ones are more successful.  Combining quantitative and qualitative methods, the study also provides recommendations to improve such cost-sharing policies to the benefit of the economy and learners.
