In 2010, EUR 24.8 million were invested to support training plans of private companies, a loss of 8.1 % compared to 2009. This is due to a change in the legal basis (reduction of eligible costs) and also a reduction in companies’ training efforts.

About 1 150 companies benefited from the State’s training participation, a raise of 13 % over 2009. The staff of those companies represent 47 % of total Luxembourgish private sector employment. They represent 6% of all the private companies established in Luxembourg or 21% of those employing more than nine employees.

On average the financial support equals EUR 25 800 per company and for half of them cofunding is more than EUR 6 740.
