The ‘Noor Meister 2011’ (Young Master) skills competition took place on 1 and 2 December 2011 as part of the information seminar ‘Teeviit’ (Road Sign).
On 1 January 2012, changes were made to the organisation of vocational training for the unemployed following recent amendments to the Law to promote employment.
To encourage Lithuanian vocational education and training (VET) providers to share their good practice and promote VET, the Qualifications and VET Development Centre (Kvalifikacijų ir profesinio mokymo plėtros centras) launched a good practice competition. The winners were announced on 1 December 2011 during the conference on ‘Vocational education and training: the future and success’.
Youth unemployment rates in Italy are among the highest in the EU. In December 2010, 29 % of 15-24 year-olds were unemployed. In December 2010, Italy’s national statistics service, Istat, reported that while the overall rate of unemployment rose by 0.2 % from 2009 to 2010, the rise in youth unemployment was 12 times higher. The inactivity rate is increasing dramatically: 1 in 3 young people is not studying or working, which gives rise to several critical issues for demand and supply in the labour market.
