The recently approved Framework for Cooperation between Cedefop and Eurofound brings the two agencies even closer together.
Having enjoyed an excellent working relationship over the years, the agencies have now agreed to establish closer links and to pursue greater mutual understanding. In this way, they aim to better serve their respective target groups and provide stronger support to the European Commission.

The Framework describes the complementary activities of the agencies, sets out a collaboration agreement and includes a proposal for establishing an annual work plan based on their respective missions and activities. The agencies will provide direct access to each others work, share project results, consult each other on their annual work programmes, set up ad hoc project managers groups, and explore the possibility of developing common research tools.

Cedefop and Eurofound were established in 1975 at the request of the social partners. The agencies both support the Lisbon Strategy (Cedefop on vocational training development, Eurofound on employment strategy) and expect that the Framework will fill information, research and expertise gaps and create useful new services.
