Social Dialogue in Europe

The idea behind this conference is to raise awareness of the achievements and the role of social dialogue across Europe, within the framework of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. Social dialogue is deeply rooted today both at the European level and throughout Member States. In the conference, good practices of social dialogue at various levels and in different contexts will be presented.

 The good practices and discussions will contribute to the development of a toolkit that can be used as a support for skills development by social partners in their countries at national level or in sectoral initiatives. From this standpoint, the conference aims to be seen not as an isolated event, but as another step forward in the fostering of social dialogue in Europe. (promoted by the Commission)
