Unesco Bangkok organised a regional meeting in Manila, in the Philippines on 11 and 12 July  to discuss quality assurance arrangements that underpin the qualification process used in technical vocational education and training (TVET).

The aim is to generate trust and support the relevance of qualifications for the labour market and for individuals.

The meeting brought together a range of international experts and national stakeholders from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond to share experiences and lessons learned from country studies and to discuss the draft regional guidelines for effective quality assurance of qualifications systems.

Cedefop expert George Kostakis presented the European experience on quality assurance of qualifications. He focused on a recent Cedefop study on ensuring the quality of certification process in initial VET.
