If you don't update your skills, you may become less able to cope with rising job demands; if you don't practice your existing skills in your current job, you may find it impossible to update them. These related phenomena of skills obsolescence and skills mismatch can become a serious problem for employers and employees alike. Cedefop is to conduct a survey to measure mismatch and obsolescence in several Member States as a first step toward dealing with the problem. The first expert meeting is held on 13 June in Brussels.
In last month’s newsletter we featured the main findings of Cedefop’s latest skills report. But did you notice that you can dig deeper in the data yourself - and find results not just by occupation, age and gender, but also by country?
Find results of the skills forecast by occupation, qualification, age and gender: just click on the link or the skills forecast banner on the right. On each page you can also search for data by country.
