On the occasion of the Womens Day, the ETF organised an international conference on the vision of Women in Education and Employment in 2010 on Monday 6 March and Tuesday 7 March 2006 in Turin. The conference focuses on the role of education and training in advancing the status of women in society and in strengthening the position of women in the labour market.

The main objectives of the international conference are to raise awareness and promote commitment by ETF partners countries on the need to enhance focus on gender equality issues when implementing policies related to education, training and employment, in line with EC guidelines for co-operation for development. The plenary sessions will include keynote speeches from Anna Zborsk, from the European Parliament, and the 2003 Nobel Prize Shirin Ebadi. At the end of the first day, Monday 6 March, the awards will be presented to the winners of the essay competition on Women in education and training 2010.
