Estonia - VET events in 2011

ReferNet Estonia

In March, the Foundation Innove and ReferNet Estonia held an information seminar on ‘Labour and training needs’.

Three studies were presented: ‘Manpower requirement and the knowledge-based economy’, ‘Expert opinions as a method to forecast demand in vocational education and training’ and ‘Labour-market demand and workforce competencies and level of qualifications in the agricultural-, food- and forestry sectors’.

In February, the EKEU - Association for the Advancement of Vocational Education, held a seminar on ‘VET promotion organisation’ where developments and perspectives of Estonian VET and adult training were presented. Speakers from Luxembourg and Finland presented an overview of VET developments and situation in the labour market and experiences with centralisation and reorganisation in VET.

The Association for the Advancement of Vocational Education, which brings together VET school directors, staff and officials working in VET-related governmental and non-governmental organisations, is the main partner of the Ministry of Education and Research in VET policy making in Estonia.
