The European Training Foundation, in cooperation with Cedefop, is organising a three-day conference on "Sectoral partnerships for qualification development" in Sinaia, Romania from 25-27 September 2006 following increased attention for sectoral developments in the Copenhagen Declaration.

This event aims to show and discuss why sectoral approaches are important and how sectoral partnerships can assist in developing more responsive qualification systems. We will be looking at sectoral strategies, qualification development processes, and functional models of sectoral partnerships.

The approach will be interactive and change oriented, discussing how sectoral structures can be developed and reinforced, and linked to national qualification systems. The focus will be on national sectoral partnerships, but international sectoral initiatives will be discussed as well.

Participants include sector representatives, accompanied by policy makers/key officials from Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Croatia and the Former Yugoslav republic of Macedonia; international experts, representative from European Sectors and social partners, Cedefop and ETF staff.
