Loukas Zahilas is a Senior Expert working for Cedefop as Project Manager on Qualifications and learning outcomes.
He was born in 1960, with studies in Chemistry and ICT applications, worked for 6 years in the Pharmaceutical Industry before moving to education and training. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in VET working in Technical Institutes, the University of Athens and mainly the Organisation for Vocational Education and Training of Greece. For the period 1996 – 2006 he served in various Directorate positions in OEEK/ Greek Ministry of Education. Before joining Cedefop in 2006, he was the Greek representative in various European Bodies like the Directors General for VET (DGVT), the Advisory Committee for Vocational Training (ACVT), the European Training Foundation (ETF). He has also served as the National Europass Coordinator, National Liaison Officer for Study Visits Programme (NLO) and has participated in the Technical Working Groups on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and the Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET).
He is currently working on the EQF/NQF developments and implementation, the shift to learning outcomes and the sectoral approaches to lifelong learning. |
