After graduating from the Czech Technical University in Prague, she worked in the Research Institute of Machine Tools and Machining in Prague as a research worker for a short period of time. In 1984 she started working as a teacher of vocational subjects at the Secondary Technical School in Prague 3, later she was in the position of a vice-principal.

In 2004 and 2005 she participated in the preparation of a new Maturita (school-leaving) examination as the director of ÚIV (Institute for Information on Education) – CERMAT division.

In October 2005 she started working for the NÚOV (National Institute of Technical and Vocational Education) as the manager of the Vocational Education Curriculum Division and since the beginning she has also been the deputy director. Her main task is organising and conceptually managing the creation of framework educational programmes for vocational education and management of activities related to the creation and implementation of the National Qualifications Framework.

She co-ordinates activities connected with the introduction of European tools for the support of vocational education at the national level (EQF, ECVET, EQARF).

Since 2007 she has managed the OECD Policy VET Review project as the contact person and national expert on vocational education in the Czech Republic.
