‘I learned so much during the study visit that my vision of education has changed completely’. Participants of study visits believe that it is a real opportunity to meet their colleagues and peers from all over Europe, to share their experience and bring back new and innovative ideas, to change. The impact of the programme on education and training policy and practice is considerable.
Education and vocational training decision-makers and specialists can now apply for the study visits scheduled between September 2013 and February 2014.
119 study visits will take place in 28 European countries and will explore about 30 various topics, which are in line with the latest European priorities in education: among others, promoting acquisition of key competences (language teaching and learning, education for active citizenship and sustainable development and ICT use); promoting work-based learning and transition from education and training to the world of work; cooperation between education and training institutions, enterprises and local communities; equal opportunities for disadvantaged groups; supporting initial and continuing training of teachers, trainers and educational leaders.
Participating in study visits is beneficial for those responsible for educational and vocational training policies at local, regional and national levels, including directors of education and vocational training establishments, guidance centres and validation and accreditation centres; teacher trainers; education and training inspectors as well as representatives of employers’ associations and trade unions.
