Many new theories and technologies have transformed the practice of distance education since this conference began in 1985. Yet utilizing them to deliver effective teaching and training still challenges us as we face the next 20 years. This year's conference will reflect on lessons learned and how to apply them to improve the design, delivery, and support of distance teaching and learning.

The Annual Conference on Distance Teaching and Learning is recognized internationally for the quality and integrity of its program. Each year the conference provides a forum for the exchange of information on distance education and training. The conference addresses the needs of educators, trainers, managers and designers from throughout the world who are involved in the application of technology to the teaching and learning process and in the planning, administration, and management of distance education programs.

The aim of this annual conference is to foster effective distance learning applications through the sharing of new knowledge, skills, and developments among education and training professionals. The conference program will offer more than 150 concurrent sessions, workshops, advanced seminars, panels, keynotes, and course design showcases. The conference program and registration brochure will be available in early May.
