The Cedefop seminar on 10 and 11 December addresses the needs and priorities of learning providers in relation to flexibility and the role quality is playing in it.

The seminar is addressed to education and training providers, accrediting and labelling bodies, teachers and trainers, quality and e-learning specialists, learners’ associations, social partners, European and national policy-makers, and researchers in the field of learning quality.

Educational providers whether in higher education or vocational education and training (VET) have to become adaptable to changing labour markets realities and to learners’ diversified needs and values. The European educational landscape is evolving towards greater flexibility whilst safeguarding relevance and continuity through the EU transparency tools. Quality and quality assessment (QA) are key factors for safely navigating these uncharted waters.

Cedefop expert Tina Berzeletou, who organises the seminar, said: 'Quality of learning delivery is a priority shared by both learning providers and teachers and it depends on the institution's quality approach and teachers’ performance in class and/or in virtual learning environments. Based on this assumption, Cedefop has invited representatives of these two main actors in the field - learning providers and teaching profession - to share successful cases of quality enhancement. The quality approaches presented will refer to one of three levels: the internal level of the institutions, the external one (through QA and accreditation) and delivery of e-learning/blended learning. The discussions will be enriched by participation of several EQAVET members who will bring in their national perspectives. A panel session with the formal representatives of six VET networks and/or professional higher education providers active at EU level will discuss how best Cedefop could shape its contribution to further increasing quality.'
