Cedefop’s skills forecasts show that demand for low-skilled labour continues to fall. As a result, leaving education and training early is likely to lead to low-paid, short-term jobs.

Returning to school or enrolling in professional training programmes should become the main alternative for young people.

This conference considers how closer cooperation and more exchanges of good practices in education, training, youth policy and work can lead to early public interventions to support young people who are not in employment, education or training. The main objective is to create or strengthen effective learning partnerships for policy development in this area.
