The Golden Stars Awards are given to shining examples of projects around Europe that encourage active civic participation in EU issues. The winning projects come from Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, and the UK. The European Commissioner for Education, Training, Culture and Youth, Mr Jn Figel', will be handing the awards to ten projects at a ceremony held in Brussels on 8 November 2007 during the Europe for Citizens Forum 2007.

This years Forum focuses on intercultural dialogue, and helps to usher in the upcoming European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008. Many of the prize-winning projects feature a strong intercultural profile and demonstrate how intercultural dialogue constitutes a fundamental part of active European citizenship.
