Cedefop Director James Calleja and Head of Department for VET Systems and Institutions Loukas Zahilas had several meetings at the Unesco headquarters in Paris on 5 and 6 May regarding potential areas of cooperation.

The two organisations worked together in the past on qualifications frameworks, work-based learning and green skills.

The Cedefop representatives met with Unesco’s Assistant Director-General Qian Tang, Director Division for Policies and Lifelong Learning David Atchoarena, Chief Section for Technical and Vocational Education and Training Borhene Chakroun and Head of Unesco-Unevoc Shyamal Majumdar.

Discussions revealed great potential in sharing a common vision on attractiveness and excellence of vocational education and training and in streamlining work on additional issues such as learning outcomes, entrepreneurship and key competences.
