Almost half a year ago, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on vocational education and training (VET) initiated by MEP Nadja Hirsch. Looking back at almost 10 years since the launch of the Copenhagen process for a better cooperation in VET, the resolution calls on the Member States to live up to their promises and implement measures to make VET fit for the future.

This event focuses on the experience of various stakeholders with the European tools, which aim to facilitate comparability and recognition of learning results in VET across Europe and to improve the overall quality of VET systems, including the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), ECVET, thequality assurance approach and Europass.

In assessing the impact of these tools on learning, mobility and employment, speakers together with the audience will discuss whether these tools have indeed managed to get us closer to a European labour market.

Confirmed speakers include:

Androulla Vassiliou, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth

Christian Lettmayr, Acting Director Cedefop

Helene Clark, Director for Lifelong Learning: Policies and Programme, DG EAC

Jean-Louis de Brouwer, Director for Europe 2020 Employment Policies, DG EMPL
