Cedefop presents its findings at opening conference of European Year of Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations
Active ageing is about getting more out of life as you grow older - at work, private life or in the community. Cedefop studies how guidance and training can encourage older people to stay on at work - and how the workplace can make the best use of their skills and experience. It is presenting its findings at the Danish Presidency conference launching the Year of Active Ageing on 18-19 January.
2012 is the European Year of Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations, a chance to reflect on how Europeans are living longer and staying healthier than ever before — and to understand the opportunities this represents.
The Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2012 is holding a high level Conference on Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations on 18 and 19 January in Copenhagen. The conference, inaugurating the European Year 2012, is co-organised by the Danish Ministry of Employment, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration and the Ministry of Health, in close cooperation with the European Commission. The conference explores innovative solutions to the challenges facing Europe with regard to an ageing society, in employment, social affairs and health.
