Cedefop is the reference centre for vocational training in Europe and as stated in its founding regulation: 'The main tasks of the Centre shall be: to compile selected documentation relating in particular to the present situation, latest developments and research in the relevant fields, and to matters of vocational training structure' (1).'
The Information and Documentation Service (Infodoc) has been contributing to this with a long standing tradition in selecting, organising and disseminating information from Member States, European institutions and international organisations since Cedefop's creation in 1975.
National information is submitted through the European network of reference and expertise (ReferNet), which comprises representatives from the 27 Member States plus Iceland and Norway. European and international information is monitored by the Infodoc.
Our multilingual collections contain research reports, legislation, statistics and comparative studies. The topics covered are those included in the Education and training 2010 agenda such as: training systems, recognition of qualifications, professional occupations, vocational guidance, lifelong learning, and the training of trainers.
The target groups are: EU and national policy-makers, social partners, training practitioners, training and research organisations, universities, students and citizens.
Infodoc is a member of Eurolib and in 2004, the library management system was certified under ISO 9001:2000.
