Choosing fields of interest for
your traineeship
The application form allows you to choose the Areas/Services in order of
preference. Please explain why you wish to undertake your traineeship in a
particular Area/Service. In general, the choices available are:
- Director’s office
- Legal Service
- Data Protection Officer (DPO)
- Area Research and Policy Analysis
- Area Enhanced Cooperation in Vocational Education and
Training (VET) and Lifelong Learning (LLL)
- Area Communication, Information and Dissemination
- Finance and Procurement Service (Area Resources)
- Human Resources Service (Area Resources)
- ICT (Area Resources)
- Facilities (Area Resources)

THE ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE OF
CEDEFOP
Cedefop has a Director’s office, 3 operational areas and 1 administrative
area. The areas are organised as follows:
1) Area Research and policy analysis
This Area carries out activities organised in two main fields:
This
activity field consists of three main interlinked tasks:
- reporting on research
(i.e. the Research Report, published every 3–4 years);
- statistics and
indicators;
- cooperation and exchanges in
research (i.e. early identification and anticipation of skills needs and
its network, Skillsnet; the Cedefop research
arena and ERO).
- Policy analysis, monitoring and reporting
This activity field consists of 2 main interlinked tasks:
- Policy analysis,
monitoring and reporting (including eKnowVet);
- ReferNet.
2) Area Enhanced Cooperation in VET and LLL
This Area carries out activities organised in three main fields:
- Supporting the development and the follow–up of
common European concepts, policies and tools in VET
Work includes:
- the recognition of
learning outcomes, including support to the development of National
Qualifications Frameworks;
- the development and
implementation of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), including sectoral qualifications frameworks;
- teachers and trainers
in VET;
- Quality assurance in
VET, with a focus on SMEs and the quality approaches within sectors;
- Lifelong guidance;
- supporting the
development and implementation of European Credit System for VET (ECVET);
- the further development
of the Europass initiative in the Member States
– in close cooperation with the European Commission – by encouraging
interaction with related initiatives and tools (EQF, ECVET, sectoral initiatives).
- Consolidated Study Visits Programme
- Familiarising acceding and candidate countries to EU
policies and tools
3) Area Communication, Information and Dissemination
This Area carries out activities organised in two main fields:
- Communication and (web and print) content management
The activities include:
- design and
implementation of a comprehensive communication strategy ;
- web and publication
content management, including managing and implementing corporate
identity. Development and updating of web and publication policy and web
maintenance, pertaining to Cedefop –s web site, the ETV and the Intranet;
- development and management of PR
activities, including management of relations to key accounts and
relation to Greek authorities.
